A Prayer for Safety

Hubby got called in to fly late Saturday evening. The mission – to fly to the Texas Louisiana border and begin evacuating critically ill patients from hospitals and taking them to other hospitals inland.

The crew loaded up. Just before take-off Hubs thought he heard something over the intercom.

“What?” he responds.

A small voice says, “Will you say a prayer for our safety?”

Hubs prays for the crew and their safety. They take off to go do what they do best.

Hours later, being just minutes from landing at the helo-port at the hospital, Hubs hears a loud sound coming from the helicopter. Upon landing they find red oil splashed all over the outside of the aircraft.

An oil line had been severed. The helicopter only had minutes left.

Needless to say, the mission was aborted. The night was spent repairing the helo for the flight home.

But praise God that one of the crew members felt the need to pray and they responded. Hallelujah for God’s provision and protection.

Prayer warriors, please pray for the Gulf Coast cities and their residents. Pray for all EMS, rescue teams, police and volunteers who will come to help in this time of need.
