Resolutions or Goals

Did you make New Years resolutions? Chances are they will be broken within the first few weeks.

Did you set New Years goals? Chances are if you didn’t write them down they will not be achieved.

Are you thinking those are some pretty depressing odds? Sometimes goals can be overwhelming. However, the secret is writing them down, keeping them before you, and taking baby steps toward them daily. (Don’t be like me – I use to write them down and then pull them out the next year to see if by chance I’d accomplished anything. Just so you know that doesn’t work! Seriously.)

So, check out my first vlog below. I’ve been putting this off and FINALLY took the baby steps needed to accomplish this. (so be kind now) This vlog will give you some helpful hints for a more effective and efficient 2010.

Hey, be sure to listen to the end and leave a comment here, on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter or anywhere to be entered into a drawing for an online Women Inspired conference admission ticket (value $12.95) that will give you the tools you need for an awesome 2010. Check out the conference here. (Seriously, how can you beat hearing awesome speakers from all over the nation while sitting in your pj’s in your comfy chair with a cup of hot coffee?)

Five tickets will be drawn on January 9th, so get those comments posted.

I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14

May you be amazed as you see God bless you immeasurably more in 2010!

Hi Alene,

I love your video. Awesome!!!! I added a couple of your suggestions to use in my Sunday School class today. We are going to pause and reflect. Sometimes I think we ignore this part. I know the Lord wants me to do this so I am including others today. One thing you mentioned was similar to a word the Lord has given me this year. How many people can you touch this year? I have been pondering ways I can touch more people with His touch.
You are beautiful. Love your hair. Isn't that just like a friend to notice! I am so glad the journal is full of God stuff. I pray God does exceedingly more than you dreamed or imagined on paper in your life this year Alene! Blessings to you, B

2010!!! a new year for new goals and continued dreaming! I'm a "write it down" kinda gal,and I appreciate your affirmations in this post. But the accountability part you mention, wow! so what I need! I praise God for you and am looking forward to growing our friendship in 2010. Love and blessings~

2010 is going to awesome! I am challenging myself to step it up a notch, as well. Tammy the online conference will have sessions for organizing our time - I ca't wait. Jessica - don't bother with resolutions, write out your goals. They will take you inspire you to stretch and grow.

B - how encouraging to know you shared suggestions with your Bible study group. I'm trying to reflect more too - it helps bring vision and clarity. The Lord is really stirring in my heart about serving others this year. I'll be serving the homeless community and the women's shelter. What a blessing!

Teri - when I got accountability partners that I could trust my life changed. Keep me posted girl!

Let's all watch God do immeasurably more this year.
love ya

Loved watching the video Alene! Makes me feel like I know you better now after seeing you "live"!
You brought out some very good points. I used to keep a journal for years but have fell down on it the past year or two. Need to get back in the habit of that.

May God bless you during this new year of 2010!

P.S. I meant to say how much I like your hair! Do you have a perm or is it naturally curly?

Very good message also. You got me motivated!!!

Loved your vlog...you are just tooooo cute!! You don't need to enter me in the drawing, just wanted to stop by and say Happy New Year.
Listening to your video made me think and become a little sad. I realized, though I have always loved journaling and journals, I did not journal at all in 2009. Hubby lost his job 01.09.09 and it changed my life and schedule so much I just never made the time. I worked so many hours I hardly took breaths all year. I did not make one resolution or goal so far this year. I guess need to maybe start by going out and buying myself a new journal and making a commitment to just write.
Well, there's my challenge, wonder if it will happen in 2010?
Blessings to you cute friend,
Cindy
