One huge blessing that has came out of learning to rest my spirit these past few weeks is that I've begun listening. I can usually hear God, mainly because He speaks in surround sound to me. Yes, He knows I'm hard of hearing. Remember, I'm that argumentative and rebellious child!
However, hearing is much different than listening.
Hearing means you just hear the sounds. We can all hear the murmur of our kids playing in the background or our friends chatting up a storm. But listening is different. It means you are not only hearing, but to listening to the words, taking them in, and processing their meaning.
Hearing from God is amazing. But when you can listen and hear His heart, that my friend, takes your breath away!
Take some time this weekend and LISTEN! God will take your breath away.
