Daddy, Daddy

Growing up involved in Blue Birds and Camp Fire Girls every year for Valentine’s Day we’d have our big Father/Daughter Banquet. We’d spend months making the table decorations and special construction paper invitations for our dads.

The big night would arrive. Our dads would escort us to the banquet and we’d treat them to all our fanciful decorations and desserts. Somewhere in the program, we girls would take the stage and sing:

“Daddy, Daddy you’re a wonder
And when you are old and gray,
We will serve you molasses candy
On a gold and silver tray.

Daddy, Daddy you’re a wonder
And when you are old and gray,
We will all say yes-by-thunder
You were some guy in your day.”

Special memories.
I love you, Daddy!

I remember going to a Brownies Father/Daughter event in Minnesota with my dad. Such memories! I'm so thankful for those memories even more now that Dad's gone. Dads hold such special places in the hearts of their little girls...even with they grow up to be big girls!
